Manufacturing Technician Overnight Shift

Summary

The primary responsibility of this position involves manufacturing of products that meets customer quality specifications.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator

Summary

The EHS Coordinator’s basic function is to provide technical skills in the operation and support of the EHS programs, to maintain an accident-free work environment, and to ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulatory requirements.

The position reports to MO SCI Supply Chain & Compliance Officer (SCCO).

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify problems and opportunities relating to EHS
  • Interface with management, company employees, vendors, and governmental agencies in an ethical and respectful manner
  • Maintain and follow safety rules and guidance provided in the Safety Manual
  • Formulate and develop the EHS policies and procedures of the company
  • Track special training needs and coordinate specific training with third-party vendors
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs and EHS inspections to identify hazards, document findings, recommend corrective actions, and follow through to ensure corrections have been made
  • Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections, as dictated by sites and regulatory compliance needs
  • Investigate accidents, identify root causes, and assist in implementing corrective actions
  • Conduct periodic contractor EHS audits
  • Conduct job hazard assessments
  • Manage the storage and shipments of all wastes, including hazardous waste, while working to minimize waste
  • Manage employee quality and manufacturing training
  • Maintain a commitment to safety, people first, quality, continuous improvement, diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
  • Track and trend incident data for KPI’s and reporting
  • Complete administrative responsibilities and documentation, including training records, accident/incident reporting, etc
  • Continually increases knowledge through education both formal and informal
  • Prioritize assigned tasks
Education and Experience Requirements

Required: A High School Diploma or G.E.D. with 1 to 2 years of EHS education experience. Willing to pursue additional training to upgrade their education and/or sharpen skill deficiencies.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Chemistry or related field. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Greater than 2 years of EHS education experience. Hazardous material training.

Working Conditions
  • Work will be done in an office and manufacturing environment
  • Work for several hours in a wet, dry, hot, and cold environment inside and outside of the facility
  • Wear specialized protective or safety equipment
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts as well as hazardous materials/chemicals and potentially hazardous materials. The noise level in the factory environment could be moderate to high.
Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee will frequently be required to sit; climb; stand; walk; lift; turning head and torso bending arms; wrists and fingers.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Must have command of the five senses: sight, hearing, touches, smell and taste.

Supplemental pay types: Yearly bonus

Willingness to travel: 10%
